Spring

The time of change, the time of an awakening nature from winter sleep. Even at night, the sun no longer sets below the horizon, gaining strength from day to day. Under the white blanket, the colorful soil of the tundra appears, promising the return of the short and intense Arctic summer. Many fjords are still frozen and the mountains white, but in the valleys the streams and rivers are breaking open and the snow is melting everywhere. Reindeer and foxes are shedding their winter coats, the first flowers are popping up, and migratory birds are flocking back to Spitsbergen. A world in which life awakens, full of colors and full of light under the never setting sun.
