Snowkite- and Ski-Camp

March - May

Once a year we go out by snowmobile into the vast and rugged nature of Spitsbergen. We set up camp and spend a week in the snow with snowkiting, ski touring, avalanche training and igloo building. The activities will be adapted to the weather conditions. Cooking will be done together and all guests will participate in the nightly polar bear watch.

Day 1

Arrival, city tour, museum

Welcome to Svalbard. Upon arrival at the airport, your guide will greet and accompany you to your accommodation in Longyearbyen. Already on the first day, we will get to know the diversity of the northernmost settlement in the world on a detailed city tour. Feel the special atmosphere of the place and discover the treasures of the famous Svalbard Museum.

For groups we are happy to offer private tours, which can be freely designed in terms of content. Together we can put together a program exactly according to your wishes and ideas. A private tour is somewhat more expensive, but offers many advantages and privileges both in the program design, as well as in the implementation of the trip here on Svalbard.

Information

To drive a snowmobile you need a valid class B driver's license under the "Vienna Convention on Road Traffic of 1968" act. The driver's license must always be carried with you when we are out and about with the snowmobiles.

This tour guarantees expedition character. From time to time, you will have to lend a hand and help out.

Program events are always weather dependent and the implementation of scheduled activities may be modified or cancelled due to safety concerns.

A valid passport and travel health insurance must be present.

Polar bears are protected on Svalbard and must not be searched for or disturbed. Sightings are never guaranteed and you must keep your distance from them for safety reasons. The legal distance is 300 metres in summer and 500 metres in winter.

You should have good ski and/or snowboard skills and a good fitness to participate in this tour. This tour guarantees expedition feeling, everybody has to give a helping hand in-between activities

The program can change constantly due to locally changing weather conditions on site. The camp is accompanied and led by experienced Arctic Guides, snowkiters and ski tourers. We also have a professional chef with us!

To participate you need a valid passport to travel as well as a health insurance and expedition insurance that covers kite sports.

If the minimum number of participants is not reached one month before the start of the tour, we cannot carry out the tour according to the program and price. In this case we will discuss the details and possibilities with you personally.
