Svalbard - an adventure in Winter

Welcome to Svalbard. Upon arrival at the airport, your guide will greet and accompany you to your accommodation in Longyearbyen. Already on the first day we will get to know the diversity of the northernmost settlement in the world on a detailed city tour. Feel the special atmosphere of the place and discover the treasures of the famous Svalbard Museum.

Today you will head out into the vast, white wilderness with your own dog team (snow conditions permitting). You will spend the whole day out in nature, learn a lot about the everyday life of dogs and help prepare and harness the dogs. The sledges and dog teams are navigated in teams of two. At lunchtime, you will reach an ice cave deep in the ice of a glacier. You descend into a wonderful world of ice in the most spectacular colors and shapes.

After lunch in the great outdoors, we head back. An almost silent glide through the Arctic; the grinding of the runners in the snow and the occasional joyful barking of the dogs make this experience unique. You will be back in Longyearbyen in the late afternoon.

After a hearty breakfast, we set off. We are equipped with arctic-suitable thermal suits, boots, gloves and all other necessary equipment and after a detailed introduction to the handling of the snowmobile and a few tips & tricks, how to drive such a scooter, we head out.

The route will be chosen by your guide on the day depending on the snow and weather conditions. Far away from civilisation, we enjoy the day and drive through valleys and over glaciers and explore the vastness and beauty of Spitsbergen.

We return in the late afternoon.

Overnight in Longyearbyen.

We start the day with a good breakfast. Then it's time to head out. We tie up our equipment and all luggage for the multi-day tour on the snowmobiles and off we go. We are on track the whole day and get to know the breathtaking nature and impressive vastness of Svalbard west. The pointed mountains of the west coast, which give the archipelago its name, are just as impressive as the huge glaciers that wind down from them. Lunch will be served in the nature. Then we continue until we reach the sea. Here, situated on the west coast, lies the wilderness hotel "Isfjord Radio".

We enjoy a wonderful dinner in great surroundings and spend the night in one of the most comfortable hotels you can imagine in the wild nature of Svalbard.

After a leisurely breakfast at the old radio station, we set off again. We spend the full day in the scenic west coast region. High into the mountains over glaciers and mountain passes until the next fjord stops us. Lunch is served in the countryside. In the early evening it is time to drive back to Longyearbyen.

Farewell day. After an extensive breakfast, there will be some free time (depending on your flight schedule) in town. Then it is time to say goodbye. Our private airport transfer will take you to your scheduled flight and on your way back home.
