    Pack ice

The pack ice covers a large part of the Arctic Ocean, at least in summer. In winter, the pack ice extends from Svalbard to the North Pole. It is a wild, cold realm where meter-thick ice floes are pushed wildly on top of each other and drift across the sea with wind and current.

On the east coast of Svalbard you might get an impression. Otherwise, it would have to be a trip by ship in summer, taking you far north and to the limits of the pack ice.
