The North Pole is the northernmost point of the Earth and represents the place where everything lies south. It lies 90° north and all longitudes meet there. Under these extreme conditions, the sea ice is still mostly frozen even in summer. If you stand on the geographic North Pole, in the middle of the Arctic Ocean, a short time later you are already a bit far away from it, because the ice is drifting and constantly moving. Under the ice, the sea is 4,000 meters deep. The North Pole does not belong to any nation... although in 2007 Russia placed a Titan flag on the ocean floor to challenge just that.
Because of its location, the geographic North Pole experiences only one sunrise (in March) and one sunset (in September), each at the solstice - the rest of the time you experience either the midnight sun or the polar night.
In the last years it was not possible to reach the North Pole through the ice camp "Barneo".
