Immerse yourself in Svalbard's fascinating past!
On this 90 minute museum tour, our experienced guide Katharina accompanies you through the famous Svalbard Museum. Not only is she an expert on the history of Svalbard, but her traditional clothing from the late 19th and early 20th centuries makes this tour a particularly authentic experience.
Starting with the discovery of the Arctic archipelago in 1596, through the times of the whalers and fur hunters to coal mining, Katharina gives you exciting background information that goes far beyond the museum texts. During the tour you will have the opportunity to marvel at historical artefacts and exhibits from times gone by. Let the authentic atmosphere of this tour take you back in time and learn more about the lives and challenges of the people who once lived here.
This tour can be ideally combined with one of our sightseeings. You will experience Svalbard's history not only in the museum, but also up close at the historical sights in Longyearbyen.
Unfortunately, due to capacity reasons, we cannot offer this tour on cruise days..

For groups we are happy to offer private tours, which can be freely designed in terms of content. Together we can put together a program exactly according to your wishes and ideas. A private tour is somewhat more expensive, but offers many advantages and privileges both in the program design, as well as in the implementation of the trip here on Svalbard.
