On this tour, you will learn basic knowledge about polar expedition. Relatively short distances between 8km and maximum 15 km per day, allow us to not just gain experience in traveling on skis through untouched nature but also learn a lot of other usefull winter skills. How to pack your pulka (sledge for equipment), errect your tent but also build emercency shelters in the snow. How to use your fuel stove, navigate in nature and evaluate avalanche and weather risks.
The special thing about this tour is the individual support and instruction from our guide with a group size of only 6 people.
A week full of adventures and learning by doing for everybody interested in arctic winter expeditions
Welcome to Svalbard! We will pick you up at the airport and take you to your accommodation in Longyearbyen. If you arrive before 3:30 PM, we will go on a city tour of Longyearbyen that same afternoon. By minibus, we drive through the town, making several stops at interesting sights such as the polar bear warning sign and the Global Seed Vault, while sharing insights about life in Longyearbyen.
The tour also includes a visit to the Svalbard Museum. During a guided visit, we delve deeper into the history, nature, and wildlife of Spitsbergen and gain fascinating insights into polar research and everyday life on Svalbard.
