Discover Svalbard in winter time

Welcome to Svalbard! We will pick you up at the airport and take you to your accommodation in Longyearbyen. If you arrive before 3:30 PM, we will go on a city tour of Longyearbyen that same afternoon. By minibus, we drive through the town, making several stops at interesting sights such as the polar bear warning sign and the Global Seed Vault, while sharing insights about life in Longyearbyen.

The tour also includes a visit to the Svalbard Museum. During a guided visit, we delve deeper into the history, nature, and wildlife of Spitsbergen and gain fascinating insights into polar research and everyday life on Svalbard.

This tour provides a compact and informative overview of Longyearbyen – ideal for getting to know the Arctic better.

The immediate surroundings of Longyearbyen offer a wealth of fantastic routes and summits for snow hikes, catering to every level. Depending on the group and your wishes, we explore the wide valleys around Longyearbyen, keep a lookout for reindeer and Arctic foxes, or – depending on the route – walk across a glacier and enjoy the winter paradise around us.

Depending on the snow conditions, we travel either with snowshoes or without – your guide decides on the spot what works best.

With a magnificent view, we enjoy a lunch out in the middle of nature, before setting off on the way back – full of impressions from a day in the wintry wilderness of Svalbard.

Today we head out into the wide, white wilderness with our dog team. You will spend the entire day outdoors in nature, learn a great deal about the daily life of the dogs and lend a hand in preparing and harnessing the animals – making the tour a true hands-on experience from the very first moment.

In teams of two or three, you navigate the sled and dog team together through the snow-covered landscape. As the dogs pull you through the Arctic with palpable enthusiasm, you immerse yourself in a world of snow, silence and endless space. At the lunch break we stop to enjoy the magnificent landscape around us – and one or two of the dogs will surely be delighted to receive a good cuddle.

After lunch out in nature, we set off on the way back. It is an almost silent glide through the Arctic: only the swish of the runners in the snow and the occasional joyful barking of the dogs accompany us, making this experience so unique. In the afternoon you finally return to Longyearbyen, full of impressions.

We will be equipped with arctic thermal suits, boots, gloves and all other necessary equipment and after a detailed introduction into the handling of the snowmobile we will start our tour. Depending on snow and weather conditions we will drive far out into nature through wide valleys, over mountain passes and glaciers. A perfect opportunity to get familiar with the snowmobile and the equipment and to get a first impression of the majestic landscape of Spitsbergen.

After lunch and a hot drink in the nature we will come back to Longyearbyen.

In the morning the call goes out: into the warm, Arctic-grade gear – adventure awaits! Today we set off on a full-day discovery tour through the fascinating winter landscape of Svalbard. Past majestic mountains, across wide glaciers and through endless valleys, we explore the impressive mountain scenery of Svalbard's west coast.

If snow and ice conditions allow, we make a stop along the way at one of the hidden ice caves – and immerse ourselves in a sparkling world of frozen light, fascinating structures and shimmering colours, as if from another world.

To keep us going, a warm lunch is served along the way in the midst of the Arctic wilderness, before we return to Longyearbyen in the evening – full of new impressions and with rosy cheeks.

Early in the morning we set off. We set out to explore the east coast of Spitsbergen. This full day tour takes us once again far away from civilization... Through wide valleys, over mountain passes and glaciers we reach the east coast. We spend a whole day on the wild and cold side of Spitsbergen. If the ice situation allows it, we go far out on the frozen ocean and enjoy the rough nature. Seals, maybe bears, later in the season the first returning birds and otherwise far and wide no sign of human civilization. Only in the evening we return to Longyearbyen.

Take a day off to unwind, wander around the city, buy some souvenirs, or have a relaxed coffee. If you want more action, there are additional activities available for booking. We're happy to advise you about the best possibilities and offers.

Farewell day. Depending on the flight schedule there will be some free time in town. Then it is time to say goodbye. Our private airport transfer will take you to your scheduled flight and on your way back home.
