Svalbard active week in summer

Welcome to Svalbard! We will pick you up at the airport and take you to your accommodation in Longyearbyen. If you arrive before 3:30 PM, we will go on a city tour of Longyearbyen that same afternoon. By minibus, we drive through the town, making several stops at interesting sights such as the polar bear warning sign and the Global Seed Vault, while sharing insights about life in Longyearbyen.

The tour also includes a visit to the Svalbard Museum. During a guided visit, we delve deeper into the history, nature, and wildlife of Spitsbergen and gain fascinating insights into polar research and everyday life on Svalbard.

This tour provides a compact and informative overview of Longyearbyen – ideal for getting to know the Arctic better.

The immediate surroundings of Longyearbyen offer a wealth of fantastic routes and summits, making hikes possible for every level – from leisurely tours through the valleys to more demanding ascents with sweeping panoramas.

Depending on the group and your wishes, we explore the wide valleys around Longyearbyen and keep a lookout together for reindeer and Arctic foxes living here in the wild. Depending on the chosen route, we may also walk across a glacier and search along the way for fossils that tell of Svalbard's eventful geological past. Our local guide adapts the pace and route to the group and shares fascinating insights about the nature, geology and history of the region along the way.

With a magnificent view, we enjoy a lunch out in the middle of nature and let the stillness and vastness of the Arctic landscape sink in, before setting off on the way back – full of impressions from a day in the wilderness of Svalbard.

We set off on a three-day adventure in the wilderness of Svalbard: with backpack and tent, we explore the Arctic on foot and immerse ourselves deep in the wild.

A boat drops us off in Skansbukta, a beautiful bay in the northern part of Isfjorden. From there we begin our hiking tour and already cover a few kilometres on the first day before finding a suitable spot and pitching our tents. Together we cook, and we share the bear watch among all participants.

The next day we continue hiking northwards, seeing nothing but the untouched nature of Svalbard. We are sure to come across a few reindeer, and with a little luck we may also spot other animals such as the Arctic fox. We have plenty of time to truly immerse ourselves in the Arctic landscape, and we enjoy our lunch with views of the surrounding mountains. We are on the move all day before setting up our tents again in the evening.

On the final day we walk the remaining kilometres back to the fjord, where the boat picks us up around midday and brings us back to Longyearbyen.

Depending on the chosen route and the group, we cover around 15 km per day. There are no marked trails on Svalbard, so we find our own way over rough and uneven ground. Our local guide leads the way, adapting the pace and route to the group – and together we spend three wonderful days in the wilderness of Svalbard. Everyone has to carry their own equipment as well as a share of the shared gear, so please bring a larger hiking backpack.

Take a day off to unwind, wander around the city, buy some souvenirs, or have a relaxed coffee. If you want more action, there are additional activities available for booking. We're happy to advise you about the best possibilities and offers.

A kayak tour in front of an active glacier promises a fascinating and unforgettable experience. The gentle movement of the kayak opens up the unique opportunity to experience this diverse ecosystem from a completely new perspective. As you paddle through the clear water, surrounded by drifting icebergs, the imposing glacier rises majestically before you, creating an impressive, almost surreal backdrop.

Your adventure begins with a roughly one-hour boat ride to the glacier, during which your experienced guide provides you with all the necessary information and prepares you for the paddling. No prior kayaking experience is required – this tour is also suitable for beginners. After the kayaking adventure, a hearty lunch awaits you before we head back to Longyearbyen.

For the tour you will be equipped with a drysuit, a spray skirt, special shoes, paddling gloves and a life vest. We recommend wearing one or two warm layers underneath, along with warm socks and a hat. You will also receive a waterproof bag for your valuables; a small backpack for personal items or an extra jacket can also be helpful along the way to keep you warm. Please bring a change of clothes.

Farewell day. Depending on the flight schedule there will be some free time in town. Then it is time to say goodbye. Our private airport transfer will take you to your scheduled flight and on your way back home.
