This gastropub is more than just a place that serves good food and drink. It is a cozy expedition pub that takes you back in time, inspired by the heroic polar explorers who ventured into the icy polar regions. The rustic interior creates authenticity and features fascinating details from the world of expeditions, including maps and maritime elements. The Fram expedition with Nansen, Amundsen and Lindstrøm were highlighted as the biggest inspirations.
Stop by and enjoy the Svalbar burger or the meal of the day. From pasta to steak, there's plenty on the menu.
Welcome to Svalbard's most relaxed and historic restaurant to celebrate a birthday, enjoy a romantic dinner or have a drink with the locals. Our menu focuses on seasonal ingredients, and our chefs and waiters work hard to serve you the best they can.
Steakers Svalbard, also called Kroa, was built in 1998 in the most central areas of Longyearbyen. The idea behind our restaurant is to show a piece of Svalbard's history. Old driftwood and other materials have been used, showing traces of Svalbard's rough nature. Kroa is decorated with pictures from the hunting days, especially pictures of the people who worked here in the north at that time.

Stations is a restaurant in Longyearbyen, which opened in July 2018. We serve traditional Norwegian food alongside international dishes. Everything is prepared with love and served with an original touch. We have an extensive and varied menu with dishes suitable for both lunch and dinner. We also have a daily special with an emphasis on traditional Norwegian cuisine. Our large beer selection and extensive wine and bar menu complement the food.
Stations is located at a historic site in Longyearbyen's mining history. Lompensenteret, which is now a shopping center, was once a dressing room for the miners.
The name "Stations" and the design of the building go back to another, also important part of Spitsbergen's history: the period of whale hunting from the early 17th to the late 18th century. During this time, all eyes in Europe were on Svalbard and the possibilities of whaling. Whale hunting stations were established on large parts of the island, from which we have taken the name Stations, and in our design we want to show this great period. And of course there will be a whale dish or two on the menu!

Professional Swedish chef Andreas Styrsell moved to Svalbard in 2012. In 2019 he showed off some typical Svalbard entrepreneurship and decided to open up the world's northernmost foodtruck, Tio Moncho's. Not just any food, but a high end Mexican taco truck with all the extra flourishes one would expect from a trained chef.
In 2022 the cafe "Tio Moncho's" opend and replaced the old cafe "Rabalder" just in the middle of town.
At Restaurant Nansen we have gathered the best products and created a menu inspired by Nordic flavors. Here you can expect high-quality cuts of meat, fish from the Arctic and an exclusive selection of side dishes. Look forward to culinary delights while enjoying the view of the surrounding fjord and mountains.
Although the food is top-notch, the atmosphere here is casual. You're more than welcome to come in your woolen underwear, straight from the wilderness. The mix of elegance and endorphins released in the dining room after an Arctic adventure is what makes Nansen Restaurant unique and beautiful.

Experience a touch of Asia in the Arctic! Nuga is a modern restaurant based on Japanese culinary traditions. The menu includes tasty dishes such as sushi, ramen soup, tempura, and dumplings, which contrast beautifully with the restaurant's surroundings.
Japanese cuisine is different from that of other Asian countries, as the Japanese take great care to preserve the natural flavors of the food. At Nuga, we treat food with respect and serve delicious dishes in the traditional way. With dumplings and fried noodles, you will also experience a touch of China.
Create a social occasion by ordering a variety of dishes to share. The delicious food is complemented by the wonderful atmosphere, which is a perfect combination for an enjoyable meal.

The Polfareren Hotel-Restaurant is named after the Norwegian polar explorer Eivind Astrup (1871 - 1895), the young man who joined Robert Peary's expedition to Greenland and returned home as the one who mapped Melville Bay on the northwest coast of Greenland. At the age of 21, he received the Order of St. Olav - and a century later remains the youngest recipient of this prestigious award.
Our fresh and exciting approach takes inspiration from Astrup's significant achievements. The restaurant and our à la carte menu are influenced by Nordic cuisine. Our executive chef, Joshua Wing, creates a tasty menu each month that incorporates a touch of the Arctic and focuses on seasonal produce. Vegetarian and vegan alternatives are also available. Our wine list reflects the cuisine and is carefully selected with small producers in mind.

We are proud to have restored Gruvelageret i Sverdrupbyen and turned it into a unique and new restaurant. The interior of the restaurant focuses on the history of early coal mining in Longyearbyen. The kitchen prides itself on serving genuine, exquisite food with a love for arctic cuisine.
Often our guests have had a hectic day full of adventures and have been out and about in the arctic wilderness since early morning. We aim to offer our customers a unique dining experience in a calm, relaxed atmosphere whilst showing them some of Longyearbyen's proudest history as an old mining town. You're still in the arctic wilderness, just below the Longyear Glacier, and we make sure everyone who has had a hard day leaves us satisfied, perhaps to explore the local pub, Karlsberger Pub, or to bed go to be rested for a new day in Longyerbyen.

A restaurant and bistro with a focus on Nordic flavors and local ingredients, and one of the largest wine cellars in Scandinavia with over 15,000 bottles. A piece of Spitzbardian history within the walls and Arctic nature right outside the door.
Huset was designed by Jacob Hansen, who was also the architect of the Colloseum cinema in Oslo. The mining company Store Norske began construction in 1948, and Huset opened in October 1951. The house was centrally located in the valley and was therefore called the heart of the city.
The food in the restaurant is characterized by Nordic techniques and flavor combinations, with ingredients coming mainly from Svalbard and the Arctic region. In cooperation with trappers and hunters in Farmhamna, Bellsund and Akseløya, we get local products from Svalbard, such as bearded seals, reindeer and ptarmigan.

We at PopUp Norway are now heading north, ready to repeat last year's success at Mine 3 in Svalbard!
Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the peak winter season, we have the pleasure of inviting you to a cultural and taste experience that is second to none. Each week, a new renowned guest chef takes over the kitchen in our PopUp restaurant and is given the task of preparing their specialties using local ingredients. The chefs bring their own style and take us on a culinary journey through a 7- to 10-course menu. We have enjoyed cuisines from the Mediterranean to the Norwegian coast to the islands of Asia. The menu can be enjoyed with a wine package where our sommelier accompanies each course with a matching wine.
A bus picks you up in the city center and takes you to the old Mine 3, now closed, where you spend the evening enjoying the show and the food.
Café Huskies runs like any other café: customers walk in, order chai lattes and poppy seed cakes, then sit down to read a book, chat with a friend, or type on their laptops. But every day there are also a few friendly dogs to keep you company in this cozy town in Longyearbyen. The dog café opened in April 2022.
A rotating crew of resident dogs — pets owned by employees, friends, friends of friends, ex-colleagues, and other residents — “work” multiple shifts a week. Their whole task is to bring joy to the guests and create a living room atmosphere in the cafe.
Fruene is a café and a pleasant place to meet. We make all the cakes and dishes ourselves. Here you will also find a selection of chocolates and yarn. We also have a wide range of gifts such as crockery and locally produced soaps.
Come by Karlsberger Pub when you are in Longyearbyen. Karlsberger Pub (or KB that is the common name) is a small but very copius bar, placed in the heart of Longyearbyen. We were announced as the «6th cooolest bar in the world» some years ago, due to the genuine atmosphere and the great collection we provide.
In Longyearbyen there are many different options for dining out. From good to upscale we have options in different price ranges. Here you can find an overview of the restaurants in Longyearbyen.
