Tempelfjord by snowmobile

March - May

A snowmobile ride through valleys, canyons and over fjords. A fjord with magnificent views and unique trapper history awaits us!

After breakfast we will set off. We will be equipped with arctic-suitable thermo suits, boots, gloves and all other necessary equipment and after a detailed introduction into the handling of the snowmobile we will start. Our destination is the Tempelfjord, an often frozen fjord east of Longyearbyen, where we come across the old hunting cabin Fredheim, where the legendary trapper Hjalmar Nøis spent 38 winterings.

But the way there is also an experience in itself, and regularly we stop to soak up the vastness and beauty of the landscape. After lunch and a hot drink in nature, we return to Longyearbyen.

For groups we are happy to offer private tours, which can be freely designed in terms of content. Together we can put together a program exactly according to your wishes and ideas. A private tour is somewhat more expensive, but offers many advantages and privileges both in the program design, as well as in the implementation of the trip here on Svalbard.

Program events are always weather dependent and the implementation of scheduled activities may be modified or cancelled due to safety concerns.

A valid passport and travel health insurance must be present.

To drive a snowmobile you need a valid class B driver's license under the "Vienna Convention on Road Traffic of 1968" act. The driver's license must always be carried with you when we are out and about with the snowmobiles.

It is recommended to get an additional travel insurance that includes Covid-19 and related measures (also a quarantine through no fault of your own e.g. or a travel warning of the Foreign Office).

In Norway and Svalbard we have a 0‰ alcohol tolerance for scooter rides. If this is not respected, you cannot participate in the tour and you are not entitled to a refund.
