Svalbard active week in summer

Welcome to Spitsbergen! We will pick you up at the airport and bring you to your accommodation in Longyearbyen. If arriving before 15:30, we will go on a guided tour of Longyearbyen on the same afternoon. Here we will get to know the northernmost settlement in the world and its surroundings in detail.

The area around Longyearbyen offers a variety of fantastic routes and peaks for hikes to suit all abilities. Depending on the group and your wishes, we will explore the wide valleys around Longyearbyen, look out for reindeer and foxes or, depending on the route, walk over a glacier and search for fossils. We will have lunch in the countryside with a wonderful view before setting off on our return journey.

We embark on a 3-day adventure in the wilderness of Svalbard: with backpack and tent we discover the Arctic on foot and immerse ourselves in the wilderness.

We take a boat to Skansbukta, a beautiful bay in the north of the Isfjorden. From there we start our hiking tour and cover a few kilometres on the first day before we find a suitable spot and pitch our tents. We cook together and divide the bear watch between all participants.

The next day we hike further north and leave every trace of civilisation behind us. We are sure to encounter a few reindeer, and with luck we may also spot other animals, such as the Arctic fox. We have plenty of time to really immerse ourselves in the Arctic landscape and enjoy lunch on Jontunfonna with views of the surrounding mountains. We hike the whole day and set up our tents again in the evening.

On the last day we walk the last kilometres until we reach Pyramiden, an abandoned russian mining settlement, where the boat picks us up around noon and takes us back to Longyearbyen.

Depending on the route and the group, we walk about 15km per day. There are no hiking trails on Spitsbergen, so we have to find our own way. Our local guide leads us, adapts the speed and route choice to the group and together we will spend three wonderful days in the wilderness of Spitsbergen.

Being in a kayak at the front of an active glacier is a breathtaking and unforgettable experience.

Accompanied by our experienced guides, you will explore one of Spitsbergen's most spectacular natural areas in robust double kayaks.

On this day trip you will be picked up at your hotel and given all the equipment needed for the day trip. This includes a dry suit under which you can wear your own clothes.

With a comfortable, enclosed RIB boat, we head to the north side of the Isfjord, where the kayaks are waiting for us on the beach. On the way there, our guide will give an introduction to the safe handling of the equipment and the kayaks. After a one-hour crossing we arrive at the beach and get ready to go.

The surroundings of the glacier are diverse and beautiful. On the peninsula next to the glacier, delicate flora fights the wind. If we are lucky, we can also see the glacier calving and forming new icebergs.

After paddling through the bay for several hours, we return to our boat. Here our captain has prepared a hearty lunch for us to enjoy on our return journey to Longyearbyen.

Farewell day. After an extensive breakfast, there will be some free time (depending on your flight schedule) in town. Then it is time to say goodbye. Our private airport transfer will take you to your scheduled flight and on your way back home.
