Ski expedition from east to west

Welcome to Svalbard. We pick you up at the airport in Longyearbyen, bring you to your accommodation and get to know the diversity of the northernmost settlement in the world on a full guided city tour. Feel the special atmosphere of the place, discover the treasures of the museum and art gallery. Take a deep breath of the clear arctic air and let the peace and coziness of the everlasting darkness take effect on you!

Overnight stay in Longyearbyen

Today, after a delicious breakfast together, we pack all the equipment on the sleds and head east on the scooters. We drop off in Aghard-Bay, on the east coast of Spitsbergen. This is where our ski tour begins. There are 8 days of adventure and remote nature ahead of us. From today on we will spend the night in tents. The camps will be set up every evening and taken down every morning. We establish "walking routines" and "camp routines", we cook and eat together and divide the night watch every evening (each guest helps with the bear watch).

We have spent the first night in the tent. Routines with camp construction, polar bear watch and common cooking are established and we can start towards the northwest. It should be a leisurely beginning, since we will cover a total of about 160 kilometers in the coming week. We spend the night in a tent again.

The highest "Pingo" of Spitsbergen, breathtaking landscapes with wide valleys and high mountains await us today in Reindalen. After that, we stay in a tent again.

Spectacular day across the sea ice. Today, we will swiftly head west across the fjord, where we will reach the wild Fridtjovbreen with a view of beautiful Akseløya. Along the way we will pass remnants of past mining days and also a trapper's cabin that is still actively used for hunting. Overnight stay in nature.

Glacier, glacier as far as the eye can see! The Fridtjovbreen shines with its beauty and we slowly climb 550 meters in altitude towards the glacier pass. The impressive scenery of the steeply rising west coast accompanies us. We continue towards Orusdalen where we find a cozy place for our last overnight stay in the tent.

Final stretch! The last leg takes us over the Nordenskiöldflya with its rich fauna along the Barents Sea coastline. Spitsbergen's western mountain formations slope down to the sea into a broad flat foreland, providing us with a magnificent backdrop between sea and rock for our final, long but flat leg to the well-deserved destination. Arriving at Kapp Linné, a shower, a wonderful dinner and a warm bed await us in the former radio station.

Today we get to sleep late! After breakfast, our people from Longyearbyen arrive to pick us up. An exciting ride brings us back to the city. We enjoy our last evening with a final dinner together.

Farewell day. After an extensive breakfast, there will be some free time (depending on your flight schedule) in town. Then it is time to say goodbye. A private airport transfer will take you to your scheduled flight and on your way back home.
