Isfjord Radio at Kapp Linné with the snowmobile

    March - May

Isfjord Radio - Visit with us the Norwegian radio station at beautiful Kapp-Linné on the west coast of Spitsbergen.

Come with us on a snowmobile ride in the beautiful west to the namesake pointed mountains of the archipelago. The tour will continue through the snowy landscapes of Grønfjorden to the foot of the Grønfjord Glacier and finally to Isfjord Radio Station, where we will spend the night.

On one of the two days we will also visit Barentsburg, a Russian administered mining settlement with about 400 inhabitants - a time travel to the old Soviet Union!

    Day 1

    Isfjord Radio

After the breakfast it's time to head out. We tie up our equipment and all luggage for the multi-day tour on the snowmobiles and off we go. We are on track the whole day and get to know the breathtaking nature and impressive vastness of Svalbard west. The pointed mountains of the west coast, which give the archipelago its name, are just as impressive as the huge glaciers that wind down from them. Lunch will be served in the nature. Then we continue until we reach the sea. Here, situated on the west coast, lies the wilderness hotel "Isfjord Radio".

We enjoy a wonderful dinner in great surroundings and spend the night in one of the most comfortable hotels you can imagine in the wild nature of Svalbard.

Overnight stay and dinner at Isfjord Radio.
