March - May
A highlight in winter! On the east coast of the island of Spitsbergen, you have a good chance to meet no one. Ice, glaciers, pack ice and frozen fjords as far as the eye can see. We might see a few seals and with luck the king of the Arctic himself, the polar bear. This is his territory and habitat.
Early in the morning we set off. We set out to explore the east coast of Spitsbergen. This full day tour takes us once again far away from civilization... Through wide valleys, over mountain passes and glaciers we reach the east coast. We spend a whole day on the wild and cold side of Spitsbergen. If the ice situation allows it, we go far out on the frozen ocean and enjoy the rough nature. Seals, maybe bears, later in the season the first returning birds and otherwise far and wide no sign of human civilization. Only in the evening we return to Longyearbyen.

A private tour is somewhat more expensive, but offers many advantages and privileges both in the program design, as well as in the implementation of the trip here on Svalbard.
