1000 kilometers through Spitsbergen

Experience the wonders of the Arctic with us: snow-covered solitude, huge glacier fronts, mystical ice caves and reindeer and seals in their natural habitat. With overnight stays in remote hotels and tents, we are as close as possible to the nature of Spitsbergen and we will let ourselves be guided by it. We will spend a week on snowmobiles in the entire Area 10, the parts of Svalbard that can be experienced by tourists.
1000 kilometers through Svalbard!
Day 1
Arrival, transfer to your accommodation and city tour
Welcome to Spitsbergen! We will pick you up at the airport and bring you to your accommodation in Longyearbyen. If arriving before 15:30, we will go on a city tour in Longyearbyen the same afternoon and get to know the northernmost small town in the world and its surroundings.
Day 2
Day tour with the snowmobile
After breakfast we start our journey. We will be equipped with arctic thermal suits, boots, gloves and all other necessary equipment and after a detailed introduction into the handling of the snowmobile we will start our tour. Depending on snow and weather conditions we will drive far out into nature through wide valleys, over mountain passes and glaciers. After lunch and a hot drink in the nature we will come back to Longyearbyen.

Day 3
East coast intense with camping
With all the gear needed for a multi-day tour, we head out. Crossing wide valleys, mountain passes, and glaciers, we make our way to the east coast. We spend an entire day immersed in the wild and cold nature of Svalbard. If the ice conditions allow, we venture far out onto the frozen ocean and enjoy the rugged beauty of the landscape. We may have the chance to see glacier fronts and icebergs.
In the late afternoon, we arrive at our comfortable camp on the east coast, where a warm group tent awaits us already. Our camp guard greets us warmly and shows us how everything in the camp works. We settle into our tents, which are equipped with field beds and plenty of space to stand comfortably. Together, we enjoy the icy world around us, far removed from the rest of the world, and gather for dinner in the heated group tent. In the evening, we organize the night-time polar bear watch, in which all guests participate.

Day 4
East coast extended
We will spend the next two days on the east coast of Svalbard, enjoying the remoteness and beauty of the icy world around us. Since our camp is already located on the east coast, we don’t need to spend a few hours driving to explore this area like on other tours. We are already there, ready to begin our adventure. Depending on the ice conditions, we spend the days either on the frozen ocean visiting glacier fronts, or traveling over the ice cap and through the mountain peaks, exploring the remote east of the island. Seals, perhaps bears in the distance, and the first returning birds - otherwise, there are no signs of human civilization as far as the eye can see. In the late afternoon, we return to our camp each day, which gradually becomes our home.

Day 5
Over the fjords back to Longyearbyen
Today, we will take the entire day to slowly make our way back to Longyearbyen with some detours. Depending on the weather and ice conditions, we may head to Tempelfjord or take another detour south. In the afternoon, we will reach the town, where the impressions of our camp on the east coast will linger with us as we enjoy the luxury of the town.

Day 6
Day off
Take a day off to unwind, wander around the city, buy some souvenirs, or have a relaxed coffee. If you want more action, there are additional activities available for booking. We're happy to advise you about the best possibilities and offers.
Day 7
Isfjord Radio
Now we set off to explore the western part of the archipelago. Here, a completely different landscape awaits us compared to what we have seen so far: Instead of ice caps and sea ice, we encounter sharp mountains and striking peaks, as well as wide valleys and plateaus with reindeer digging through the snow for plants. The changing scenery between Longyearbyen and the west coast is fantastic. The pointed mountains, which give the archipelago its name, are just as impressive as the massive glaciers that snake down from them. We will have lunch in the great outdoors. Then we continue until we reach the sea, where the wilderness hotel "Isfjord Radio" is located.
We enjoy a delicious dinner in a wonderful setting and spend the night in one of the coziest hotels imaginable in Svalbard's wild nature.

Day 8
In the wild west
Today we take the whole day to explore the west coast of Spitsbergen. From the Arctic Ocean, whose waves break on the shore, to plateaus with many reindeer, to steep mountains and glaciers - the Wild West has a lot to offer. Depending on the snow and weather conditions, we choose the best possible route.
Day 9
From Isfjord Radio back to Longyearbyen
After a leisurely breakfast at the old radio station, we set off again. We spend the full day in the scenic west coast region. High into the mountains over glaciers and mountain passes until the next fjord stops us. Lunch is served in the countryside. In the early evening it is time to drive back to Longyearbyen.
We have covered a good 1000 kilometers criss-crossing Spitsbergen and have explored the winter world like hardly anyone else.

Day 10
Departure
Farewell day. After an extensive breakfast, there will be some free time (depending on your flight schedule) in town. Then it is time to say goodbye. A private airport transfer will take you to your scheduled flight and on your way back home.
For safety reasons, no more than half of the snowmobiles may be doubled up.

Wilderness camp at the East Coast
In the heart of Svalbard’s rugged wilderness – far from any trace of civilization – lies our unique comfort camp on the remote east coast. Surrounded by endless landscapes, dramatic glaciers, and Arctic silence, the camp is the perfect retreat for those seeking pure nature without giving up a touch of coziness.
Arrival is by snowmobile – a true Arctic adventure! As we cross frozen valleys, mountain passes, and glaciers, we gain breathtaking insights into the untouched beauty of Svalbard. Upon reaching the camp, a warm group tent, a welcoming camp guard, and real expedition atmosphere await us.
Guests share spacious tents in pairs, each with standing height, a window, and comfortable camp beds. A high-quality sleeping bag with liner and hot water bottle ensures a warm and restful night, even when temperatures outside drop far below zero. The large heated community tent offers seating areas and hot meals – a cozy space to relax in the middle of the Arctic.
And for those who want to take their adventure to the next level: Depending on snow and weather conditions, we sometimes build a real igloo as part of the camp. Guests are welcome to spend the night inside – a rare opportunity to sleep in a traditional snow shelter and experience the stillness of the Arctic even more intimately.
A special aspect of camp life is the polar bear watch: every guest takes part in the nightly watch, scanning the surroundings for any curious four-legged visitors. It’s not just about safety – it’s a truly unforgettable experience to stand guard in the stillness of the polar night.
Despite the remote location, you won’t have to give up all modern comforts. A generator, solar panels, and a large power bank provide charging for phones, cameras, and other small devices – perfect for capturing your Arctic memories. Occasionally, the satellite internet is activated, allowing for a brief check-in with the outside world. Most of the time, however, the connection stays off – allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the Arctic experience: offline, yet completely present.
At our camp, you are deep in nature – and still well taken care of: warm meals, hot drinks, sleeping comfort, and a well-thought-out safety concept make this journey a stylish Arctic adventure.

A valid passport and travel health insurance must be present.
To drive a snowmobile you need a valid class B driver's license under the "Vienna Convention on Road Traffic of 1968" act. The driver's license must always be carried with you when we are out and about with the snowmobiles.
In Norway and Svalbard we have a 0‰ alcohol tolerance for scooter rides. If this is not respected, you cannot participate in the tour and you are not entitled to a refund.
Polar bears are protected on Svalbard and must not be searched for or disturbed. Sightings are never guaranteed and you must keep your distance from them for safety reasons. The legal distance is 300 metres in summer and 500 metres in winter.
Depending on the weather, route and group, it is possible that a total distance of 1,000 kilometres will not be reached. In this case, there is no entitlement to a refund.
In the wilderness camp, everyone has to take part in the nightly polar bear watch after the introduction.
If the minimum number of participants is not reached one month before the start of the tour, we cannot carry out the tour according to the program and price. In this case we will discuss the details and possibilities with you personally.
